Ozzfest will return as a touring festival this summer, it was announced on Friday (April 30), with Ozzy Osbourne and Mötley Crüe headlining, according to a statement on the festival's official site. The tour will mark the first time the two bands have toured together since 1984, during the Crüe's breakthrough appearance as Ozzy's opening act on a major U.S. tour.

Ozzfest, which took a year off in 2009 and was a one-day event headlined by Ozzy and Metallica in 2008, will kick off August 14 in San Bernardino, California (the birthplace of the first Ozzfest in 1996), and then make stops in Chicago; Hartford, Connecticut; Camden, New Jersey; Pittsburgh; and Boston. Live Nation will promote the tour nationally.

The main stage will feature full sets from Ozzy, the Crüe and Rob Halford, the latter performing songs from his solo career along with material from Judas Priest and Fight. DevilDriver and Nonpoint will fill out the main stage lineup. Second-stage headliners and six-time Ozzfest veterans Black Label Society will be joined by Drowning Pool, Kingdom of Sorrow, Goatwhore, Skeletonwitch, Saviours and Kataklysm.

Each date on the tour will include 13 bands on two stages with music beginning at 1:00 p.m., according to the statement. There will also be a "Village of the Damned," featuring interactive activities, shopping and entertainment throughout the venue concourses.

Ozzy will release a new album, Scream, on June 15.

Tickets for the shows will go on sale May 22 at OZZfest.com and LiveNation.com.

Ozzfest 2010 dates, according to the festival's website:

8/14 - San Bernardino, California @ San Manuel Amphitheater
8/17 - Chicago @ First Midwest Bank Amphitheater
8/19 - Pittsburgh @ First Niagara Pavilion
8/21 - Hartford, Connecticut @ Comcast Theater
8/22 - Camden, New Jersey @ Susquehanna Bank Center
8/24 - Boston @ Comcast Center

There's nothing official yet, but Diplomat fans can get ready to rejoice: Cam'ron says that he and Jim Jones are now in constant conversation and that a deal is being put together for a new Dip Set LP.

"Realistically, we working out business," Cam'ron told website Nowwut.com today. "Me and Jim are speaking. I don't want people to think me and Jim aren't speaking," Cam'ron said. "We speak a few times a week. Right now, we talking out the business. The deal is on the table. But until the business gets situated, it's [Cam's group], the U.N.; me and [protégé] Vado. We not about to stop. All the bosses meet at the roundtable. To be honest, we missed out on a lot of money on the Diplomat thing the first time. I'm not moving on nothing Diplomat until the business gets done. But it's close to getting done. Right now I don't want to mislead nobody and say it's not U.N. right now."

On Monday, Cam sat down with DJ Green Lantern, but the rapper dodged questions about a Dipset reunion, divulging only, "Me and Vado are putting out four albums this year ... I'm with the U.N. right now, Green. It's me and Vado, we doing the U.N. I'm focused though."

The Dips first told radio personality Miss Info of their reunion, at least, news that the pair were getting back to friendly terms, earlier this month.

"It's 2010, and this is something I gotta get off my chest," Jones told Info. "You've known us from back when we didn't have what we have now, so you remember, that above all, me and Cam, we still brothers. And we're building on getting back on track. But first, I apologize for being a rude brother, for saying things publicly without first trying to handle them privately. I apologize for not leading by example because what I didn't realize at the time, I was venting but it wasn't all about me. There were other people whose dreams were also part of this movement. So, by not leading by example, they were left stranded too. The way I handled our business issues was with emotion, and it got totally f---ed up. That's what selfishness does."

"There's nothing really Diplomats-related to show you yet," Cam told Info. "We all have our own obligations right now, our own projects. I have this Boss of All Bosses Pt. 2.5 mixtape with Vado and DJ Drama dropping soon. But yes, me and Jim have been speaking, we're working out the mechanics of this, and looking at our options right now. If it makes sense, it can happen."

Since one of his blockbuster hits already has a sequel, Robert Downey Jr. is already chatting up his next franchise.

During an interview, Robert revealed that his detective counterpart, Sherlock Holmes, will be getting another movie and it won't just be stationed in London. He suggests that Holmes and Watson will venture to Paris and Switzerland in the film as well.

Nice!

And for those who are interested, its still up in the air if Rachel McAdams will be coming back. Robert explains:

"It's hard to say [who is coming back]…Because Irene Adler only appeared in one of the stories of Doyle's reservoir of activities. But we'll find out quickly."

Eh, we can do without her. Just make sure that Jude Law is dutifully by your side and we're good!

M.I.A. 'Born Free' Video Kid Says Clip 'Shows Violence To End Violence'

Ian Hamrick adds, 'M.I.A. was a sweetheart.'
By James Montgomery

Ian Hamrick in M.I.A.'s video for "Born Free"
Photo: Interscope

Toward the end of M.I.A.'s incendiary "Born Free" video, there's a horrifying slow-motion scene in which 12-year-old Ian Hamrick — one of the redheaded "minorities" rounded up by armed police officers — is shot in the head, then collapses to the ground as blood spurts from the wound.

Not surprisingly, Hamrick's parents weren't too excited when he was first cast in the video (his dad is a retired cop), but he persisted and eventually they allowed him to take part. And for the young actor, it was actually an opportunity to make a powerful statement. Because, as he revealed to TMZ, he's pretty deep for a 12-year-old.

"I think she was trying to show violence to end violence," Hamrick told the site Thursday. "The video is definitely not for kids — I haven't even seen the full video myself — but for all the adults and people in different countries who are doing that in real life ... doing the genocides to whatever: Italians, Africans, wherever it's from, it's still genocide. So it's showing violence to end violence."

Hamrick also told TMZ that he had met with the production team behind "Born Free" before signing on for the video, and was well aware of the grisly storyline. He also wants it to be known that "M.I.A. was a sweetheart."

In the meantime, debate continues to rage over the content of the video, which, while not entirely "banned" from YouTube, has been carefully hidden by YouTube's staff after enough viewers flagged the clip for objectionable content. A report on Wired.com cites a spokesperson for the site as saying that, while YouTube didn't pull the video, it did place it behind an age-restriction click through, rendering it impossible to find unless you already know the URL.

What do you think of M.I.A.'s "Born Free" video? Be warned: it's extremely violent.

To Retire Or Not To Retire

To Retire Or Not To Retire

brettap091129051446.jpg

That is the question facing ancient quarterback Brett Farve.

Because he is as old as the game of football itself, Brett is not as fit as he once was. In fact, at the moment, he is dealing with a pretty serious ankle injury.

Sources explain that if Brett intends to play in the upcoming season as the QB for the Minnesota Vikings, he will need to have extensive surgery.

Now the only questions is, will he do it or finally retire from the NFL for reals?

We don't know much about sports, but we do know that over a 19-year career, you've got to have hefty funds saved in the bank. We say retire and enjoy your spoils.

Leave the QBing to Tom Brady. (Yum!)

Eminem Is 'Back' On 'Not Afraid,' Fans Say

Eminem Is 'Back' On 'Not Afraid,' Fans Say

'THAT is the eminem I like hearing,' one fan tweets about the lead Recovery single.
By Jayson Rodriguez

Eminem's "Not Afraid" has been the talk of blogs, message boards and social-media networks on Thursday (April 29), as the rapper detoured from his normal route of celebrity-bashing numbers and instead delivered an honest take on his life and career, even calling last year's Relapse "ehh."

Fans have mostly been supportive, with many noting his departure from zanier fare.

"Very different than his usual 1st singles, but I like it," kevi-B wrote on MTV.com.

The Detroit rapper's last album, Relapse, was among 2009's highest sellers, but fans complained that it didn't show off the MC's skills. The album was Eminem's first in five years, after suffering from drug dependency and the loss of his close friend, D12 rapper Proof. In interviews, Em noted that the album helped him work his way through writer's block, and he returned to his Slim Shady persona for aid.

Rbrt_vndrvn wrote on MTVNews.com that the criticism seems to have motivated Eminem on "Not Afraid." "Well, it's official: Eminem has to work with a chip on his shoulder and something to prove to bring out his potential," he said. "From now on, I declare Eminem the underdog, and we will always get great music!"

Since Relapse, Eminem stayed visible by contributing to Drake's "Forever," Lil Wayne's "Drop the World" and B.o.B's "Airplanes (Part II)" in preparation for his upcoming Recovery, due in June.

That output left fans excited, and Twitter member Tony Markovich gave Em two virtual thumbs up. "THAT is the Eminem I like hearing," he tweeted. "Forever, Drop the World, Airplanes, Despicable, and now this!? I'd say he's back."

Some Slim Shady fans weren't happy with Eminem dismissing Relapse, which actually took home some awards-show hardware. "Great leadoff song," Tom wrote on MTV.com "Really goes well with the album title. ... I'm surprised he called Relapse 'ehh.' Relapse wasn't as bad as people make it out to be. The only downside to it was it was a bit repetitive, but he spit fire on every track. Em's 'ehh' album still wins a Grammy for Best Rap Album."

Siobhan Magnus Eliminated On 'American Idol'

Siobhan Magnus Eliminated On 'American Idol'

Michael Lynche and Casey James join her in the bottom three.
By Gil Kaufman

Siobhan Magnus on "American Idol" Wednesday
Photo: Fox

It's getting to that point in season nine of "American Idol" when it gets hard to guess who will go home every week because the competition has gotten so tight. But a night after Simon Cowell compared her tortured screaming to the sound of a woman giving birth, America decided that it wasn't quite ready for an "Idol" champ as quirky as tattooed glassblower Siobhan Magnus.

After charming the judges and voting public with her offbeat style sense, powerhouse vocals and sometimes sassy backtalk to the judges, Magnus' luck ran out after she closed Tuesday's show with an all-over-the-place take on Shania Twain's "Any Man of Mine."

Magnus was given the boot on a night that was packed with performances from Rascal Flatts, Shakira and Lady Antebellum, and her exit came after more than 33 million votes were lodged Tuesday.

The results began with host Ryan Seacrest creating three groups of two. The first pairing included Magnus and Lee Dewyze, followed by Casey James and Michael Lynche and then Aaron Kelly and Crystal Bowersox. Cutting the tension immediately, Seacrest walked Magnus across the stage for her first trip to the bottom three, alongside Lynche and James.

The first singer sent back to safety was Lynche, who dodged a bullet for the second time this season. "Tonight is different because everyone did well last night, so there's no shame in the bottom three," he said before being sent back to the couches. With James safe, that left the woman Seacrest called an "independent spirit" standing center stage in her salmon-colored miniskirt-and-tank-top combo.

Saying she tried out for the show for her little sisters, Magnus hoped that she had a big impact on them. "I did my best, and I hope that I was able to show them what we're all capable of," she said, clearly holding back some emotion.

Keeping her composure, Magnus went out with a typically sassy run through Aretha Franklin's "Think," which got the final five and the whole audience on their feet and clapping along. It ended, of course, with one of her signature ear-piercing screams and then some hugs for her family, who told her, "You're still our star."

This being a country-themed week, the show kicked off with a live performance from twangy trio Rascal Flatts, who played their cowboy-pop ditty "Unstoppable." Along with the usual time-killing Ford video and some other promotional shenanigans, the first half of the show also featured season-four "Idol" superstar Carrie Underwood flying in from her national tour just to introduce her current opening act, the little-known brotherly band Sons of Sylvia.

Bringing a harder-edge, new-wave country vibe than they displayed during their winning run last year on "The Next Great America Band," the all-black-clad Clark brothers played their debut single, "Love Left to Lose." The tune mixed straightforward radio rock with country touches, including fiddle, mandolin and rocked-out resonator guitar over a thudding backbeat.

With a whole hour to fill, the next break featured ACM winners Lady Antebellum performing their triple-platinum smash "Need You Now." The Fleetwood Mac-like ballad of romantic longing that has helped propel the album of the same name to the best sales figures of any 2010 release found singers Charles Kelley and Hillary Scott trading off yearning vocals as third member Dave Haywood played along on a grand piano in the background.

The night's final performance was a truly odd combo, as hip-shaker Shakira was joined by Flatts for the spare belly-dance/ boot-scooter "Gypsy," which she opened by showing off her harmonica skills. Joined by two dancers, Shakira worked her flowing red skirt and swiveled her hips as she melded her yodely vocals with the high, lonesome sound of Flatts' Gary LeVox.

Next week's mentor will be Harry Connick Jr., who will lead the finalists through the songbook of Frank Sinatra.

What did you think of tonight's elimination? Did Siobhan deserve to go home? Leave your comments below!

Regina Spektor Tells Musical Stories At Sold-Out Sydney Opera House

Regina Spektor Tells Musical Stories At Sold-Out Sydney Opera House

'It's so amazing not to play by yourself,' she told her devoted Australian fans.
By Matt Elias

SYDNEY, Australia — The warm night in Sydney was the perfect backdrop for the sun-drenched tunes from Regina Spektor's most recent effort, Far. The cathedral-like Sydney Opera House only added to the ambience.

The Brooklyn songstress took the stage Wednesday night (April 28), greeting the mostly female sold-out crowd, which rejoiced at the first notes of "Calculation" (the opening track on Far). Although the singer/songwriter was far from home, the audience proved to be more than familiar with her material. Fans shouted requests and "I love yous" between songs but were silent whenever Spektor, on piano, marched through a track.

The set continued with more selections from her 2009 album, including "Eet" and a peppier version of "Folding Chair." By the third song, the crowd had grown giddy, waiting for Spektor to address them directly. During a quiet moment, spontaneous giggling erupted and seemed to spread. Regina responded: "I feel like I have some lipstick on my nose."

The singer reached back into her catalog for "Ode to Divorce," an oldie that highlighted the concert hall's brilliant acoustics. Spektor's voice sounded so close, it was as if you were sitting beside her on the piano bench. She followed that up with the frantic "Machine" and "Laughing With," which drew extra cheers.

The remainder of the evening was peppered with crowd favorites and a back-and-forth with the audience. After the crowd clapped along to "Better," a fan begged, "Tell us a story, Regina!" That drew a clever response from Spektor: "I am. I'm telling stories all night long!" While she spent most of the night at the keys, Regina finally got up for "Dance Anthem of the 80s" (also from Far), strapping on a guitar as she recalled "The Simpsons" episode where Homer goes to rock-and-roll summer camp.

As the nearly two-hour show drew to a close, Regina told the crowd, "It's so amazing to play here, and it's so amazing not to play by yourself," referring to the devoted fans who came to see her.

In case anyone wasn't sufficiently impressed, Spektor returned for a five-song encore. Fans showed they had her back, filling in when Regina forgot a few of the lyrics to "Samson." That exchange brought to mind the words from "Eet," sung earlier in the evening: "It's like forgetting the words to your favorite song/ You can't believe it, you were always singing along."

What do you think of Regina's most recent album, Far? Tell us in the comments!

How HOriffic!

This is truly a travesty.

The weathered, lifeless shell of Katie Holmes has apparently come out her Scientology zombie daze for long enough to realize that she can't get movie work anymore, so she's going back to television to star as former First Lady Jacequeline Kennedy in the History Channel mini-series, The Kennedys!

Greg Kinnear will be portraying John F. Kennedy, while Barry Pepper will play brother Robert and Tom Wilkinson will be Joe, Sr.

We're actually in shock.

Way to massacre any chance at integrity, History Channel! Not to mention a pleasant viewing experience!

Kanye West 'Cleveland Show' Preview Pops Up Online

Kanye West 'Cleveland Show' Preview Pops Up Online

'Kenny' West challenges Cleveland Jr. to Auto-Tune-assisted rap-off in upcoming episode.
By Jayson Rodriguez

Kanye West by any other name is still not to be messed with. Just ask Cleveland Jr. from "The Cleveland Show."

The animated series' soft-spoken teen puts the move on a classmate in a clip from an unaired episode circulating online. Things get interesting when Cleveland Jr. finds out his crush is dating the Chicago rapper, who voices his own character.

"It's Kenny sippin' Henny/ Rhymes slicker than Teflon," West raps, during a musical confrontation with Cleveland. "The school been high, I'm the black Zac Efron/ And when I meet a shorty, you know we going backwards/ Pulling more tail than my man John Edwards/ Lumpy, chunky, boogie-eating chump, B/ Acting out of place like Hootie singing country/ Leave my girl alone and get your own tenderoni/ Come on, who are we kidding?/ You're used to being lonely."

Earlier this year, it was reported that West would appear in an episode scheduled to air May 2 on Fox. According to show co-creator Rich Appel, West is a longtime fan of "Family Guy," for which Appel was co-executive producer. "The Cleveland Show" writers developed a concept for the rapper and pitched it to him, Appel said. West, to their surprise, agreed.

The multiplatinum artist, however, is less successful in his animated universe than he is in real life. "Kenny" West is still trying to find his way. In the limited preview, after serving Cleveland Jr. in rhyme, Kenny challenges the youngster to an Auto-Tune-enhanced sing-off, only to discover his counterpart can "sound like a robot" — with no aid.

As of press time, the rapper was only scheduled for one guest spot. But Appel told People magazine in March that he would welcome West's return to the show anytime, heaping praise on the MC for his contributions.

"We just recorded him in the booth, and he was fantastic," Appel said. "Once he read it a couple times through, he just owned the character, which I guess isn't hard since he was named Kenny West. He said he'd be glad to [be back]. I said we could write him into the next 21 episodes!"

What do you think about Kanye's animated alter ego? Let us know in the comments!

The Biebs Tells His Fans To Back Off His Mama!

The Biebs Tells His Fans To Back Off His Mama!

justinbieberwenn2786472.jpg

Guess we spoke too soon yesterday!

We had earlier reported that a gaggle of 500 tweens filled into the Auckland International Airport the other day to give a warm and alarming greeting to their fave mini-megastar, Justin Bieber. From what we heard, the walk through the terminal went rather smoothly. Then, we read Justin's Twitter!

According to the Biebs, not only did someone steal his hat, but they shoved his mama!

Not cool!

He posted this message to fans to explain:

"Finally got to New Zealand last night. The airport was crazy. Not happy that someone stole my hat and knocked down my mama. Come on people.

I want to be able to sign and take pics and meet my fans, but if you are all pushing security won't let me. Let's keep it safe and have fun."

All those hormones, however are they suppose to contain themselves?!

But he's right, you all would do well to calm it down. We know one of the side effects of Bieber Fever is uncontrollable outbursts of affection, but you all need to find a way to control yourselves!

And for crying out loud, return the boy's hat! His wavy locks need to be protected from your anxious, grabby hands!

UPDATE: His hat has been retrieved.

DMX Wants His $$$!

DMX Wants His $$$!

dmxwenn5358731.jpg

Even while incarcerated, DMX knows what is important:

Money!!!

From behind bars, the rapper is launching a major lawsuit against Rich Kid Entertainment. He claims that the company took 100% of his revenue when he signed with them 10 years ago. He alleges that they pocketed his payments instead of just taking the 10% they were owed.

Lawyers representing DMX filed the papers in Manhattan this morning, saying:

"DMX has sold over 30 million albums worldwide and has had No. 1 singles and albums on the Billboard charts, which in turn have generated a great amount of revenue for Defendants, but has left (DMX) with nothing."

And how did this all go unnoticed?

When you spend eight years in and out of prison, you see how much time you have for financial planning!

Lil Wayne Talks Sex, Children In Pre-Jail Interview

Lil Wayne's larger than life persona continues to keep fans intrigued even while the rapper is behind bars. The MC is set to grace the cover of Ozone magazine for its sixth annual "Sex Issue," even though he's currently serving his year-long jail sentence on weapons charges.

In the issue (which was not on the magazine's website at press time, but reps confirmed the article's accuracy to MTV News), Wayne touches on a variety of subjects, ranging from the mothers of his children — which include actress Lauren London and singer Nivea — to his rumored relationship with Shanell, an artist signed to his Young Money label.

Regarding his four children with four different women, Weezy bristled at any criticism tossed his way about fathering kids with different mothers.

"I don't think what people think should be any concern of anybody's," he said. "It's definitely not a concern of mine. I'd be crazy if it was and you're crazy if you are. But that goes back to me not caring about what people think or say. They wanna be [baby mama] number five, six, and seven, so ..."

In just over 12 months, from late 2008 to the end of 2009, Wayne had three children born to him. But in the interview, he wouldn't confirm if he was in a rebellious phase or intentionally planned to have multiple children so close to the same time.

"You'd have to be a woman that's with me to know what phase I was going through," he explained. "If I was to answer that question for you or for the world or for this magazine, then I'd be the dumbest n---a on the planet."

Recently, prior to entering prison, Wayne dodged rumors that he was intimately involved with Shanell, who worked closely with the rapper on his rock-leaning effort, Rebirth.

Shanell denied a romance between her and Wayne when she spoke to MTV News in February.

Wayne echoed the singer's comments, telling Ozone the pregnancy rumors surrounding him and Shanell are impossible.

"How could that be? We've never had sex," he said. "How could she be pregnant from me? You've got to have sex to be pregnant. That's one of the things you have to do. I don't understand how people's brains work. You know? I'm a really big person. I'm a real superstar. I'm not afraid to tell you or nobody else, you know?"

Everybody loves a comeback, and T.I. is in full force with his return.

On Monday night, the Atlanta rapper premiered the video for "I'm Back," the first track he's released since he ended his federal prison sentence earlier this year.

The clip debuted on T.I.'s website, and features him returning to his roots.

Tip, sitting shotgun in a black SUV, is driven to a group of buildings. The truck slowly pulls up to a warehouse in the complex and Tip exits the vehicle as the door to the building opens. T.I. quickly enters and lights a match to brighten up the dark space.

Clad in a hoodie, T-shirt and little jewelry, Tip walks up to a covered car parked inside.

When T.I. pulls back the cover, the camera finds his car, a Ferrari, waiting for him. The rapper shuffles over to the trunk of the import and inside spots a leather bag, from which he retrieves wads of cash and an expensive watch and necklace set. And his shades.

From there, Tip takes a spin in his car and gets reacquainted with his hometown.

But like the lyrics in the song, T.I. isn't revisiting his past mistakes, he's moving on.

"Probably just seen Wayne, Gucci Mane, me and Boosie all go to prison, now he flippin' his whole image," Tip raps. "Really trippin', listen dude, for you that's not in your cards/ Think the power's in the gun, but overall it's in your heart."

"I'm Back," the first offering from T.I.'s forthcoming King Uncaged LP, premiered last month.

The rapper, who hasn't spoken much since he was released from prison late last month has been hard at work on his album, which is scheduled to arrive in stores and online August 17.

In an interview that was posted on his site recently, the rapper spoke about the project and promised fans a more aggressive tone on King Uncaged.

"I want to maintain the level of success I've been fortunate enough to do, over and over again, over the years," Tip said. "This album is different in many ways. I think that Paper Trail was a lot more about thoughts; this is more about feelings. This is significantly more aggressive, or at least at this period in production. Who knows? I can do 10 love songs tomorrow and change the direction. At this point, right now, it's going hard. It's going hard like classic T.I."
