Reese With Yet Another New Dude!

Reese With Yet Another New Dude!

wenn27260722.jpg

After her breakup with Jake Gyllenhaal this past December, is Reese Witherspoon finally ready to move on?

Last night, Witherspoon was spotted having dinner in Santa Monica with some handsome Hollywood agent who belongs to her talent agency.

And according to one onlooker, the two "were very flirtatious throughout dinner. They were having a lot of fun, totally getting along and laughing and talking the whole dinner. Reese seemed very happy. She was smiling all dinner. The mood was upbeat and really good."

Though we have to ask, could it be they were really just talking business?

The pair had a two hour meal before parting ways around 11pm.

And according to the onsite source, "Reese reached around his neck and pulled him close for a hug. They kissed bye on the cheek – but it was a very friendly goodbye."

However, a source close to Reese is adamant that the two are just friends, while a friend for the agent confirms it was "a date," though "nothing serious."

What do U think? Has Reese moved on so quickly? Or was it just a friendly dinner?

Things seem to be getting pretty serious between Anne Hathaway and her boyfriend Adam Shulman.

The Hasty Pudding's Woman of the Year was spotted with her beau earlier this morning in West Hollywood.

The two were out furniture shopping for their place but weren't very thrilled once they spotted the paparazzi.

At one point after entering a store, Hathaway even gave a discreet "hand gesture" to the paps waiting outside.

The finger from such a classy lady? Hah, we love it!

Mistress Offended By Tiger Woods Golf Balls

Mistress Offended By Tiger Woods Golf Balls

joslyn-james-tiger-woods-2j.jpg

We don't understand the problem! You make a living having balls on your face, now it's a problem that your face is on balls?

Joslyn James, porn star and Tiger Woods' swamp donkey mistress #9357 has kept pretty mum about her time with the douchebag golfer, but recently spoke out at a press conference to protest the new line of golf balls that feature images of all of Woods' mistresses.

You'd think for a second that this ho had an ounce of integrity and didn't want to further promote the scandal, but then she explained why she doesn't want her face on the product, or any subsequent profits relating to them.

"It is wrong for a golf ball to have my picture on it — because golfers hit their golf balls with a lot of force. As a victim of violence myself, it bothered me to think that someone would be standing with a dangerous club hitting a ball with my photo on it. I don't think that Tiger would want my picture on a golf ball."

WTF? Is she serious?

Apparently so, as she brought lawyer Gloria Allred along, who claims,

"Hitting a woman or an image of a woman is not a sport…this would be no different than using a picture of a woman's face for target practice."

Joslyn sent a cease & desist letter to Creative Classics, the company that is producing the golf balls, requesting her face removed from the collection.

Okay, you crazy whore, we don't think with violence against women is acceptable in any capacity, but you have exploited and demeaned yourself by sleeping with a married man and then cashing in on the publicity and suffering of a HIS WIFE who does not need to hear about your bitching because some cartoon that looks like you is being painted on a golf ball.

Go back to your porn career, where we're sure you feel valued and appreciated, and not an ounce objectified as a woman.

Taylor Swift Backlash: Readers Weigh In

Taylor Swift Backlash: Readers Weigh In

MTV News readers react to 'Why You Shouldn't Hate On Taylor Swift' article.
By James Montgomery

Photo: Steve Granitz/WireImage

On Tuesday, MTV News published an article titled "Why You Shouldn't Hate On Taylor Swift" in response to what appears to be a budding backlash against the singer, judging from various articles and comments on our articles in the wake of four wins at the Grammy Awards and her uneven performance on the show. Unsurprisingly, that article has also gotten a lot of comments, many of them in defense of hating on Taylor Swift.

Judging from the comments, it appears that there are a whole lot of folks out there who feel Swift didn't deserve to win her Album of the Year Grammy on Sunday night for a whole lot of reasons, most of which opine that Swift's live performances can't match the majesty of Gaga's Warholian exploits or Beyoncé's otherworldly contortions. Or, conversely, she only won because of industry-wide sympathy for her ... or even due to an apparent conspiracy against Gaga. We got comments in support of Swift as well.

Below are some of the most interesting comments, lightly edited for grammar and content, and please note that the opinions expressed therein are those of the commenters, not MTV News. But don't think the debate has to end here. If you want to have your voice heard, sound off in the comments below.

And now, we turn the floor over to you:

"This article is exactly what annoys me the most about Taylor Swift, she is portrayed as a victim we are supposed to feel sorry for. Her boyfriend broke up with her; poor Taylor. Kanye interrupted her; poor Taylor. She has an awful performance on TV and people criticize her, how dare they; poor Taylor. She is an adult worth millions of dollars, with buckets of awards, she doesn't need my sympathy." (Anne)

"Personally I agree with this article. What artist doesn't have a bad performance? If I recall, Fergie did much worse than Taylor. Listen to some of her other live performances, they are astounding, people need to get over their jealousy just because she is a living a dream everybody else desires. I would take an awful singer who writes their own lyrics over a dip who couldn't be creative." (Aaron)

"Taylor did not just have an off-performance. Almost all her live performances are bad.I will give her credit for being a teenage girl who writes songs about teenage life that other teenagers (and some adults) love, but I truly do not get the critical acclaim. Gaga is the most exciting thing to happen in the music industry in YEARS and her album and songs have been at the top of the charts for the past year. She also writes her own songs, and happens to be SUPER talented. After that mezmerizing performance with Elton John, a Best Album award for her would have just been the icing on the cake. Shame on you Recording Academy voting members!" (Melkush77)

"Taylor Swift's atrocious performance before her 'stunning' win is nothing short of irony at its finest. Why shouldn't we hate on Taylor? Seriously MTV ... I can't believe you're standing behind this girl as if she has even the slightest ounce of talent. The fairytale/princess junk is getting old and we're sick of it. The day Taylor puts out a decent (yes, just decent) LIVE performance is the day she may get some staying power." (Jade)

"The haters are more vocal but there are plenty who don't feel that way. I think it's obvious that the top honor should have gone to Lady Gaga, but Taylor is a sweet, talented girl, I don't see anything to hate. Whatever. Gaga's not stressing it, she got her trophies. It's all good, or it should be." (MidnightMonsoon)

"We're just sick of being lied to by the music industry. That's why there is a backlash 'cause people now know this has been another well-executed con-job. No more awards for fakery, please." (Belmonts)

"I completely agree with this article. Taylor has done nothing wrong. She handles things with way more maturity than girls her age do, even girls in similar situations who are older aren't as professional as her. Sure she didn't do amazing at the Grammys ... but honestly? She did really well. She's only human, just because she seems like she has the perfect life doesn't mean she really is perfect!! She deserves every award she has gotten and every opportunity she's gotten. ... I hope she continues to do as well as she's been doing, she deserves it. she's worked hard to get where she is." (Sigi)

"The industry expertise demonstrated in many of these comments is mind-blowing. Little did we know that so many people around the world — critics, musicians, writers — had been so totally fooled by this one skinny blond! And to think that she got away with selling almost 10 million albums in just two outings over the last three-and-a-half years. Obviously, the attendees at all of her sold-out concerts haven't been blogging enough to give the rest of the world the heads up on what so many of the commentators here already know ... pop music today is a world of pedantry and flamboyant self-absorption, reflecting the worst aspects of its target demographics." (Spook)

"Taylor is amazing. Period. She's obviously winning all of these awards for SOME reason. You can say that she can't sing all that you want, but it's not true. If she couldn't sing, then why would she be winning Grammys and CMA Awards, which are both voted on by professional musicians? Taylor is amazing live. I have seen her in concert twice, and both times she was unbelievable. She puts on a great show. She has admitted herself that award shows are her weak spot. ... It is unfair for people to be criticizing her for this. I just don't get it. Taylor is absolutely amazing, and I will be a fan of hers forever and always." (TaylorSwift13)

"It's not backlash, a lot of people have not liked her music ever since she came on the scene. I have always seen her for what she was, which is the new Debbie Gibson. She writes simplistic, vapid songs, which she can barely sing. How someone looks, who they are dating, all factor in into someone's success when youth is involved. It seems like severe backlash has befallen Taylor now only because the Grammys bestowed their highest honor on an album that is clearly not deserving to MANY people. It was fine if she was winning Teen Choice Awards or People's Choice awards, but an award supposedly about substance being given to an album with the same song repeated 12 times is too much to stomach for some people, so they've taken to the Internet with their disgust." (Micdus)

"While I may not be a fan of her music, I have a lot of respect for Miss Swift. From the fact she writes her own songs to the very important fact she is not a skank. If I had a teenage daughter, I would hope they would choose to be more like Taylor Swift vs. Shakira, Lady Gaga and Brit Brit. Talent and class always rises above un-talented trash." (ConcertConfessions.com)

"Great article. Haters are just mad because Taylor Swift outsold all their favorite artists combined. She's not good live, that's it. But she has the BEST ALBUM out of all the nominees. Keep hating, losers, you can't bring her down now. She won the Grammy for Album of the Year. The biggest award in music went to her." (Jenny)

'American Idol' Denver Auditions Turn Up Scarce Talent, 'Bikini Boy'

'American Idol' Denver Auditions Turn Up Scarce Talent, 'Bikini Boy'

Victoria 'Posh Spice' Beckham returns for another guest-judging stint.
By James Montgomery

Victoria Beckham on "American Idol" Tuesday
Photo: Fox

One week after uncovering a Texas-size amount of talent in Dallas, "American Idol" headed north to Denver on Tuesday night (February 2), looking to find more of the same (only, you know, Colorado-size). It seemed like a pretty safe bet; after all — this is where season-seven champion David Cook auditioned — but, for the most part, the only thing Mile High in Denver was the mediocrity.

While there were some pretty great voices on display, Denver will probably best be remembered for a whole lot of auditioners with sad stories to tell (childhoods spent on the lam, tragic accidents, etc.), and the very last wannabe of the show: a guy in a bikini named, appropriately enough, "Bikini Boy."

But let's get to the good stuff first. Victoria Beckham was back behind the judges' table again (she also served as a guest judge in Boston), and right off the bat, we got a genuine taste of talent, in the form of 28-year-old Mark Labriola, who wowed the panel with a sandpapery version of Squeeze's "Tempted."

He was followed by the bubbly Kimberly Kerbow, who got through to Hollywood with a take on Ingrid Michaelson's "The Way I Am" (and despite the fact that she sang a lyric about needing Rogaine directly at Simon), and Danelle Hayes, a down-on-her-luck karaoke hostess who earned high praise for a booming rendition of Melissa Etheridge's "I'm the Only One" ("That was the most moving audition," Kara raved. "I love that you wear your heart on your sleeve").

That was followed by the usual montage of assorted goofballs — a woman dressed in an electric-blue mariachi outfit, a tiara-clad glamazon, a hot dog and a winged gargoyle, to name just a few — and then we entered the "questionably talented" portion of the night's show, headlined by Casey James, a good-looking kid who survived a motorcycle accident ("The doctor said I'd never play guitar again," he told producers). James' audition — a flat-voiced take on John Mayer's "Slow Dancing in a Burning Room" — was nothing special, but Kara and Beckham liked his look (they made him take down his hair and remove his shirt, BTW), and he got through, despite Simon's objections.

And then there was 16-year-old Tori Kelly, who didn't impress much with her version of Mayer's "Gravity" but made it to Hollywood based largely on her outfit ("You're like a human orange," Simon hissed). And with that, day one in Denver came to a close.

Day two opened with some more oddballs, one of whom inspired Simon to declare, "I think you just killed every cat in Denver" (one good thing about Tuesday's show: Simon really got to show off some killer one-liners). And then, finally, the first real breakout star of the auditions emerged: Nicci Nix, who spoke like she had just inhaled helium but unveiled a breezy, jazzy voice on her rendition of Girls Aloud's "Something Kinda Ooooh."

Nix was followed by 16-year-old Haeley Vaughn, who dreamed of being "the first black, pop-country-kinda-mainstream singer" in "Idol" history. She took on Carrie Underwood's "Last Name" and, with her brassy voice, easily made it through to Hollywood.

And that, unfortunately, brought us to the likely star of Wednesday's online-search trends, a guy named Ty Hemmerling, who, in an apparent attempt to make it to Hollywood like last year's "Bikini Girl," donned a striped two-piece and attempted to sing Billy Ray Cyrus' "Achy Breaky Heart." He didn't even get to belt out two lines of the tune before the judges stood up and walked out on him, but not before Randy dubbed him "Bikini Boy." And a brief, shining star was born.

With that, the Denver auditions wrapped up. Probably for the best. All in all, 26 golden tickets were handed out, and hopefully on Wednesday, we can all do just a little bit better.

On Sunday night, millions tuned in to watch Lil Wayne go to work. Weezy, Eminem and Drake illuminated the 52nd annual Grammy Awards with "Drop the World" and "Forever." While he knows how to ignite the stage, Wayne's favorite workplace is still the studio.

Mixtape Daily debuted an exclusive clip last month that showed Weezy F. Baby recording his "Banned From TV" freestyle from the No Ceilings mixtape. Wayne laughs uncontrollably in the clip as he lays lines to the underground gem. In a new exclusive clip, he even does a little dance as he composes lyrics in his head, messes up and regroups. The New Orleans native loves his work.

Stopping by the MTV News offices recently, Swizz Beatz — producer of the official "Banned From TV" track back in 1998 — had the opportunity to hear Wayne's freestyle for the first time and gave it a thumbs-up. "For Wayne to do that in 2010, millions of instrumentals are out," Swizz said. "For him to use 'Banned From TV' and air it out, that's super respect."

Last month, "Banned From TV" rapper Noreaga said Wayne is tops on his list right now. "Wayne is my favorite rapper of the new age," N.O.R.E. told Mixtape Daily. "Although in rap years, he's just as old as me. But that's my favorite rapper for the new age. For him to not only do the joint, but it appear on Mixtape Daily video ... that's an honor. My kids love Lil Wayne. Do 'Super Thug' next, Wayne — keep my legacy alive. ... I'm trying to do Special Ed's 'I Got It Made' and a few other classics over. It's only to give respect to the people. If Wayne is a real MC like I know he is, he was doing it to show love and respect to the joint and what it meant to him. I'm speechless."

As much as the "Banned From TV" track is heralded, Swizz said he's made way better beats than that. "That's probably one of my most simple beats of all time," Swizz said. "That's, like, four sounds.

"I think it's the moment that makes the track one of [my] greatest tracks of all time," the producer added. "I think it's the moment where hip-hop was at that time where you had [Big] Pun, [Jadakiss], Nore and everybody. All those elements make it that. I think as far as instrumentals, it was a'ight."

In the new DVD "The Nino Brown Story, Pt. 2" (in stores and available on DJ Scoob Doo's Web site), you can see more clips of Wayne in the lab as well as in the club and clowning with the Cash Money Millionaires.

It's Hip-Hop and R&B Week at MTV News, and we're taking a look at some of the biggest up-and-coming artists and the heavyweights of 2010. Stay tuned all week for more!

An acting legend, most stars would be honored to simply be recognized by William Shatner. On Tuesday (February 2), the Hollywood veteran paid tribute to a colleague — but sadly, they were under the worst of circumstances.

"I'm deeply saddened to hear about Justin Mentell," Shatner wrote on his Twitter page, acknowledging the recent death of his "Boston Legal" co-star. "There's no telling how far up the ladder he may have climbed. My sympathies to his family."

Mentell, a 27-year-old actor who played attorney Garrett Wells on the ABC show from 2005 to 2006, was found dead Monday near his crashed Jeep, the aftermath of a car accident in rural Wisconsin.

Although he had only appeared in a handful of projects, Mentell made an impact on "Boston Legal" fans alongside Shatner. The actor had also appeared in the recent CGI/ live action blockbuster "G-Force."

The Iowa County Sheriff's Department said Tuesday that Mentell died when his vehicle careened off a highway and down a steep embankment, colliding with two trees. Mentell was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash and was thrown from the Jeep. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The accident is believed to have occurred around 3:30 a.m. and was first reported at 8:30 a.m. According to a deputy with knowledge of the tragedy, there was "no indication" alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash, and routine toxicology reports won't be available for six to eight weeks.

A statement on the actor's Web site says that memorial services are being planned at a later date.

Harry: I'm Too Ginge!

ap100106012550willharry.jpg

Take it easy, boys!

Prince Harry complained recently about the first double portrait of him and his brother Prince William saying that he looked too ginger — and took a jab at his brother's hair loss!

"I don't know, I'm a little bit more ginger in there than I am in real life, I think," says Harry. "I don't know, and (William) got given more hair, so apart from that, it is what it is, but no it's nice, it could have been worse."

LOLs!

Prince William even brought up his brother's ginger-ness in a speech he gave in New Zealand!

But it appears Harry got the last laugh while in Barbardos speaking to a WWII veteran saying that William "was already bald aged 12."

We think they're both seksi — ginger OR balding!

"My Life as Liz" star Liz Lee has made it no secret that she isn't like the other kids at her school. So when she had to perform at the talent show on Monday's episode of her show, she wasn't sure how anyone would feel about her performance of the Band of Horses' "Funeral."

"I just really, really love that song, just in general. It's totally one of my favorites of all time," she told MTV News. "I've always loved Band of Horses, and that was actually a song that got me into them."

Lee has certainly battled it out with the show's resident mean girls, and she wasn't sure how a roomful of her peers would receiver her performance. "It was one of the most nerve-racking things that I've ever had to go through in my entire life, especially having Cori Cooper barking down my back the whole time," she said. "It was almost miserable, like, having to wait and having to watch Cori Cooper get this huge applause and wondering of people are going to appreciate what you're doing as much as her, even though it's in a completely different category."

As it turns out, much like Cori, Lee got a standing ovation, and when it was all said and done, she felt pretty good about her decision to get up there and sing. "It started off as one of the most terrifying things I've ever gone through, and it ended up being one of the most rewarding," she said. "It was one of the happiest moments I've had."

With Lee making such a public display of affection for the band, has she had a chance to meet them yet? "I've never met Band of Horses. I would love to. I completely idolize them. They're so great," she said. "I mean, I really hope they'd like [my performance]. I worked really hard ... to conjure up the same feelings performing it as they did for me when I listen to their music."

"My Life as Liz" airs Mondays at 10:30 p.m. ET on MTV.

A number of today's biggest stars gathered on Monday night to record "We Are the World — 25 for Haiti," the classic 1985 charity single re-imagined as a benefit for earthquake relief. Though song co-writer Michael Jackson passed away last summer, his presence was most definitely felt in the studio, where fellow co-writer Lionel Richie and producer Quincy Jones had assembled more than 80 singers, rappers and actors for the new version.

To make sure that listeners feel his presence too, Janet Jackson will be representing her brother in the new recording. "She's doing Michael's part in the middle the same part Michael did," Jones told the press. "She's representing Michael."

Many of those involved on Monday said MJ's part in the original will always remain their favorite. "My favorite part of the song — it would be the bridge [when Michael comes in]," said Mya, who hinted that Jackson's voice might make it onto this version too. "I'm not exactly sure what I'm supposed to share. ... We do hope [to have Michael's voice on the track]."

"I was not born yet, but the song has had a huge impact on me," Jordin Sparks said. "And I've always loved Michael's love for the world and for the Earth and for other people and to help and give back."

Celine Dion, who paid tribute to Jackson at the Grammy Awards on Sunday, noted that by re-recording the song, they are not only helping the people of Haiti but also remembering the passion Jackson had for helping those in need. "In a way it was because of him I learned English. I had my posters in my bedroom when I was a young, young kid," she recalled. "The atmosphere [in the studio] is amazing. People are very touched to be there. We're talking about somebody who was living through music and his passion was to try to help and change the world through his lyrics and what he was doing."

Akon, who worked on music with Jackson before his death, fondly remembered stories Jackson told him about working on the original "We Are the World." "The wild part about it, Michael used to tell me stories about making the 'WATW' song and then working with Lionel," he said. "I never thought I'd be in a position to be remaking it and actually be able to tell the story myself one day."

Richie and Jones were quick to point out that if Jackson were still alive, he'd want to be just as involved with the song as he was 25 years ago, though maybe in a different role. "I know it's hard to believe, but if Michael were, alive he'd stand behind the scenes," Richie said.

LOS ANGELES — "I've never been involved in anything like this," Lil Wayne said after he recorded his solo for the remake of "We Are the World" on Monday night at the Henson Recording Studios as part of an all-star benefit for Haitian relief. "My attitude coming out is I feel blessed and I feel like I've done something today, and that's always a good day."

With a large roster of rappers in the house for the session — including Snoop Dogg, Kanye West, LL Cool J, Swizz Beatz, T-Pain, Wyclef Jean, Will.I.Am, Busta Rhymes, Kid Cudi, Drake, Nipsey Hussle, Bizzy Bone, Mann and others — Wayne said he was glad hip-hop could play such a large part in the sessions, which took place 25 years almost to the day since the first recording. "I was like, 'What am I doing here?' " Wayne joked, revealing that he got to sing the part recorded by folk icon Bob Dylan on the original.

"I was like, 'You guys are real good comedians,' " he laughed. "After I did Bob Dylan's part, it kind of hit me that I guess this is way more important than I could ever imagine."

Wayne said the opportunity to be involved in such a major undertaking is something his children can hold onto forever. As for his mother, he chuckled when he said that all she asked was that he get Gladys Knight's photo for her.

"I'm still overwhelmed," Weezy said, looking around the room at the galaxy of stars that ranged from Pink and Carlos Santana to Usher and Barbra Streisand. "I was like, 'Where do I fit in?' I thought my name got mixed up."

Asked how he approached the Dylan part and whether he sang or rapped it, Wayne said that was an embarrassing story, since he's not known as a singer and he just tried to do his best to make it work. "I don't know how to sing. I approached it the best way I know how, brother," he told a reporter with a smile. When another writer asked whether he did a better job than Dylan, Wayne flashed his diamond-studded grill and said humbly, "Hell no."

Because he lives in Miami, Wayne said he learned firsthand about the devastation in Haiti from his Haitian friends who lost their children in the earthquake. "Before I go," the New Orleans native added as he left the press area, "I think it's amazing what's been done for Haiti ... but I also think it's amazing what hasn't been done for New Orleans."
